Description
Tyneside’s Finest… a Miscellany Just as shops feature their choicest products, Tyne Bridge Publishing has asked a raft of writers to choose the people, places and ‘things’ that make Tyneside really special, and write about them for us. They responded enthusiastically with ideas ranging from Brown Ale to George Stephenson, from the No. 1 bus to Thomas Bewick, from Grey Street to the Geordie mam. Authors include John Grundy, the Journal’s Tony Henderson and David Whetstone, Jenny Uglow, and many, many more. The result is a new book full of a fantastic variety of information and opinion. Generously illustrated with photographs mostly gathered from the wonderful archive of Newcastle Libraries, ‘Tyneside’s Finest…’ is also a celebration of the treasures of our Local Studies collection. Now on CD or Cassette Tyneside's Finest has now been recorded by Tyne Sound News on cassette tape and cd. If you would like a copy please contact Tyne Sound News, PO Box 614, Newcastle upon Tyne NE99 4YN; or telephone 0191 2614121, leaving a message on the answerphone. A suggested minimum donation of £3 would help cover the costs of production.
