The Compact is an agreement between the Council and the voluntary and community sector in Newcastle, setting out the ways in which we will work together, based on the national compact agreed in 1998. It is an expression of the Council's and voluntary and community sector's commitment to work together for the benefit of all communities in the city, particularly with regard to developing a democratic, socially inclusive city where people feel involved in decision making.
