Who is the service for?

The Trades Register is for homeowners over 60 living in Newcastle upon Tyne.

How does the Trades Register work?

There are two levels of service to choose from -

  1. Information Service
After you contact us and let us know what type of work you need to have carried out in your home, we will supply you with contact details of trades people who are registered with us and are able to carry out the work. You can then, if you want to, contact the trades person yourself to discuss the work. This is an information only service. This information service is free of charge.
  2. Advisory Service
If you need support to have your work carried out, our advisory service may be able to help. When you inform us of the type of work you want to have carried out, we will arrange for estimates from trade people on the register. If you decide to go ahead and accept one of the estimates, we will arrange for the trades person to make a date for the work to be done.

If you have any queries during the work, we are available, by telephone, to offer guidance. We will contact you on completion of the work to make sure that you are happy with the standard of work done by the trades person. You will pay the trades person directly for the cost of the work. If you use the advisory service there is a fee of £25 payable to Anchor.
