Street Litter

The council is responsible for the sweeping of streets and removal of litter.

Litter in a public place is unsightly, dangerous to animals, and an offence.  The average fine is £50 but can be up to £2500.  The council provide and maintain bins to try and prevent the depositing of litter in public places and arrange for the bins to be emptied on a regular basis.

If a bin becomes overflowing it will be emptied the next working day.
