Community Facilities

Sport and Physical Activity Section

has responsibility for promoting and encouraging children, young people, adults and older people to participate in sports and physical activity.  It does this by organising a very wide range of courses and activities to enable people, adults as well as children, to acquire the skills to participate and improve.  It ensures that there is a supply of good quality, well trained coaches and instructors to create the social environment needed to ensure that participation is sustained.  An important ancillary role is the advice and support offered to the hundreds of voluntary organisations and clubs that provide activity across the City.
