Keep the heat, don't lose it

Where the heat goes: 25% Roof 35% Walls 10% Windows 15% Floor

The heat inside your home is constantly 'leaking away' into the surrounding air. How quickly this happens is determined by the thermal  efficiency of your home. This depends on a number of things, such as its age and type, the heating system and how well insulated the building is.

There are some things about your home that can’t be changed but there are other things that can make a big difference to the way your home stays warm. These include:

  • loft insulation
  • draught proofing
  • cavity wall insulation
  • insulation around your hot-water tank and pipes
