Grass
Grass is maintained at different heights for amenity and wildlife. The majority of grass in parks and open spaces will be maintained to a height of 10cm (4 inches). Grassed areas which contain naturalising spring bulbs will remain uncut until eight weeks after the end of the flowering season. If grass in parks or housing estates including on verges, grows in excess of 10 cm (4 inches) the standard will be returned within 7 working days.
Shrub Bed Maintenance - weeds are treated or removed on a regular basis to keep shrub beds clean and tidy. If excessive weed growth is reported, the border will receive attention within 14 working days.
Shrubs - if shrubs require attention they will be pruned to their appropriate dimensions and style according to their location and species. Requests for shrub pruning will receive a response within 28 working days.
Weeds
Footpaths and roadside channels are treated with pesticide between the months of April to September, to eradicate street weeds. If after 20 working days following the application, weeds are still flourishing the area will be retreated within 5 working days.
