City Build's key areas of responsibilities lie in the provision of building maintenance and construction services to clients of Newcastle City Council and Your Homes Newcastle.
The organisation is divided into three main sections.
City Build has recently won the Repairs and Maintenance contract, this area of service provides comprehensive range of day to day and planned maintenance. Delivering 150,000 repairs and servicing 23,000 gas boilers each year. Attached to this is our 24/7 standby emergency call out service.
Our construction side of the organisation delivers major and minor building works, painting, electrical and mechanical contracts. It also includes public buildings maintenance and management of acquired properties. The organisation deals with over 2000 projects annually. These can be full new build, alterations or refurbishments. The service also provides disabled adaptions, roofing and painting works. Its mechanical and electrical section provide a skilled and fully qualified workforce to carry out projects in respect of commercial gas, plumbing, electrical servicing, installations and contracts.
This newly set up section deals with over 2200 void properties per annum. The voids are processed as "quick turn around" or "modern homes". In modern homes, the section is working closely with Your Homes Newcastle in aiding them to achieve their Decent Homes Standards by 2010.
